C is for… Comfort Zone

Use your “Comfort Zone” to your advantage

Understanding and using your comfort zone can be used to both manage your stress and help push you forward.

Your comfort zone is a safe place. It can give you comfort, help you feel relaxed and help you feel in control. it can ensure that you feel ready and comfortable to push yourself forward. It will help combat anxiety and stress.

Your anxiety and learning zone is your stretch area. This is a good place to be as it can help you push yourself and better yourself. When used properly it can help you learn, be creative and motivate you. Moving between this zone and your comfort zone can help you excel. Stretching and growing the size of your stretch area and actively recognising when you are in this area and using it productively can help you thrive.

However, you will not want to spend too much time in the fear or panic zone. This is where everything is overwhelming and you suffer from severe stress and anxiety. If you reach this area, you need to find a way to pull yourself back into the middle zone.

You will naturally veer in and out of these different zones, but it is important to understand them, recognise their place and accept them and learn how we move ourselves between them so that we establish control and allow ourselves to be adaptable.
