Free-Writing: Celebrate the Small Things
As well as using our weekly prompts we recommend that you also do regular free-writing entries as part of your journal. There are a number of ways that you can do this. You can schedule some time to write an entry on a regular basis and just write about what is on your mind and/or practice reflection, you can write when you get inspired or alternatively you could have a stockpile of particularly prompts that work well for you and that you turn to on a regular basis.
A personal favourite of regular prompts is to “celebrate the small things”. This is a gratitude practice. You may already practice gratitude in our areas of your life. However, to have a positive mindset about your working life you should also include your small wins and gratitude in your career journal. Celebrating the small things is exactly that.
Add it to your “regular journal prompts list” at the front (or back) of your journal. If you plan ahead by drawing out your journal – include a section for celebrating what you are grateful for.
