Coffee and Conversations #5

promptjournal -Coffee and Conversations

Welcome to the next post in the Coffee and Conversations Series. In case you missed the previous posts we have started this series to capture and share advice shared by some of the inspirational women in our personal lives.  In each of these posts, we will write about some of the key takeaways that resonated with us and that we thought might help others and help inspire further conversations in your own personal network.

There has been a lot of conversation lately about what we can do to maximise opportunities.

For example, when discussing the gender pay gap people always talk about the “confidence gap” and typical female traits etc. In particualr, how we hold ourselves back.

We shouldn’t hold ourselves back! (and many ladies don’t)

In an interesting conversation this month someone told me that we shouldn’t be afraid of doing things we think are impossible. We should just go ahead and do them anyway. Particularly in the workplace. After all, in most “risk” situations the opportunity will outweigh the risk – we’ve just got to stop ourselves talking ourselves out of it.
