Coffee and Conversations
Welcome to the next post in the Coffee and Conversations Series. In case you missed the last post we have started this new series to capture and share advice shared by some of the inspirational women in our personal lives. In each of these posts, we will write about some of the key takeaways that resonated with us and that we thought might help others and help inspire further conversations in your own personal network.
Have a lot of fingers in a lot of pies
Being a leader (or being seen as a potential leader) often means having a lot of fingers in a lot of pies.
This naturally happens when you have been with a business for a long time. Particularly if the business has grown and developed around you. However, even if you are new to a business, getting stuck in and having your fingers in a lot of pies helps you to raise your profile and become embedded in the business.
By having a lot of fingers in a lot of pies it is inevitable that you will acquire business knowledge, that you will be relied upon and that you will know lots of people. All of these things (as well as a tonne more) will be beneficial to you as you seek to make your mark (deliberately or not).
