G is for… Gratitude

We are naturally drawn to the negative. Practising gratitude can help our brains move towards a more positive mindset which boosts wellbeing and resilience. Feeling grateful and more positive can lead to increased energy levels, better general health and sleep quality as well as improved decision making.

An easy way to practice gratitude (if you don’t already) is to write down something that you are grateful for every morning to kick off your day. While it can be easy to simply jot down three things that you are grateful for, research has found that if you what you write is more detailed, you actually improve you attitude/relationship with gratitude and become more positive, and you will find more things to be grateful for.

Another way to approach gratitude is to write down at the end of the day what went well that day and to write down a list of all the positive experiences that happened.
