When it comes to appraisal time it is important to sing your own praises. The past year has been anything but normal. There has been disruption and chance caused by the pandemic. The goal posts may have changed. You may have had to changed what you do day to day. But no matter what you have been doing in the past year you must take the time to speak up and to speak for yourself.
Make sure that your managers understand the effort you put into your job and the results you produce.
A bit of modest bragging will not only help you come appraisal/promotion/bonus time, but it will also help discredit negative comments of feedback. Take the time to provide the right amount of information about yourself, but don’t beat your accomplishments to death.
