Kindness can help reduce stress and improve our emotional wellbeing. So choose to do something that helps others on a regular basis and put other people’s needs before your own. These can be simple acts. Here are some examples of simple acts of kindness for the workplace:
- Say hi to colleagues and ask how they are
- Offer to support colleagues who may not be familiar with a technical skill that you are familiar with
- Set up a virtual coffee/lunch club to keep in touch with your colleagues
- Have a conversation with a colleague you don’t normally talk to
- Get to know a new member of staff
- listen to your colleague who is having a bad day
- Say thank you to a colleague who has helped you
- Praise a colleague for something they have done well
- Celebrate and mention the achievements of others on your team.
Simple everyday things. Simply put – helping others feels good and create a feeling of happiness which in turn helps boost your own wellbeing.
