While some stress is good, it is important that you know yourself and your body and recognise when you are experiencing bad stress and are unwell.
Here are some common signs of un-wellbeing for you to look out for.
Consider which of these apply to you:
- I feel that I have nothing left to give by the end of a typical day
- I feel rushed even when I am running on time
- I have trouble doing things at a slower pace, even when I have the time.
- I tend to think about what is coming up in my day rather than being in the here and now.
- I often want to be left alone when I get home from work.
- I find myself sighing a lot during the day.
- My eyes often burn early in the day.
- I often forget to take breaks because of the pressure I am under .
- I find it difficult to relax even when I have free time.
- When I have free time, I prefer activities that help me zone out.
- I have trouble motivating myself to do things that are healthy for me.
- I feel exhausted by the end of the day much of the time. I feel like I’m always running behind.
- I feel like I am always multitasking even at home.
- I often find myself daydreaming when I am with my partner or children.
- I tend to be my work stress home with me.
- I often wake up at night and think about things that are stressing me out.
- I notice that I get impatient and irritable about little things.
- I often do things like household tasks without even thinking about them.
- I feel like taking time to relax means I’ll just fall behind on some duty or responsibility.
