Lockdown has presented most people with an opportunity to reflect on their lives and their career. You might be struggling and having to re-evaluate, or you might be working for home and trying to get back control.
As the weeks and months have past, more people have settled into a routine and as we progress towards the easing of the lockdown restrictions it is the perfect time to do some reflecting on your career (or you haven’t already done so).
Being physically away from your usual workplace is a great time to consider both your current job and your future career.
Here are some prompts to help get you started with your reflections (but feel free to add in your own):
- Does your current job bring you happiness?
- What parts of your job do you enjoy?
- What would you change about your job if you had the chance?
- Does your current role allow you to take steps towards your long-term aspirations?
- Can you be yourself at work?
- Are you enjoying working remotely?
- What do you like about it? What do you not like about it?
- Do you want a more flexible job when you go back to the office?
- What does flexible working look like for you?
- Does your job play to your strengths?
- Do you think you have thrived during the lockdown?
- Are your Career Goals still relevant?
- What do you want (or need) to change?
