N is for.. Network

Staying connected with others and having a support network is an important part of wellbeing. Everyone should have a support network whether this is family and friends outside of work or colleagues within the workplace. There should also be a support network in place to provide support for those to may need additional support with their mental health and companies should signpost employees any additional support network they have on offer, for example, mental health first aiders.

We are all human, and being human means that we crave a human connection, communication and companionship. Feeling connected to others and feeling valued and respected by our colleagues will help boost our mental health and well-being as well as our attitude towards work and our workplace.

It can be difficult at the moment due to the pandemic to find those connections, but it is important that we seek them out and look to connect and stay connected to our support network of friends and colleagues.
