S is for… Socialise
It is important to socialise not just talk to people about work. Particularly with those who are within your team. How you socialise and when is up to you. Choose to join in with team events, have lunch with colleagues etc. Don’t just socialise with your immediate neighbours. When you get to them, branch out and socialise further afield to expand your internal network.

When you join check what social events are in the diary and get a feel for what goes on. If there is nothing really going on why not suggest something instead.
Action Point: Add work social events to your calendar and book in some lunches with people you would like to get to know better.
