Eat Regularly and Healthily

Eat regularly. If your blood sugar drops you might feel tired, irritable and depressed. Eating regularly and choosing foods that release energy slowly will help to keep your sugar levels steady.

The Eatwell guide, which is available on the NHS website, provides detailed information on how to achieve a healthy, balanced diet.

Stay hydrated

If you don’t drink enough, you may find it difficult to concentrate or think clearly. It is recommended that you drink between 6–8 glasses of fluid a day. So make sure that you are drinking enough water. Other drinks such as tea, coffee, juices and smoothies all count towards your intake. However, these will also contain caffeine and sugar.

Track your food and water intake and make sure that you have eating a balanced diet and drinking enough fluids during the day.
