What is an Appraisal?

Before you sign up to our Appraisal Programme you might find yourself asking… but what is an appraisal?

When we are talking about appraisals we mean your annual appraisal or review of your performance.

In its most basic form, an appraisal is a performance review (usually for work). It might be tied to a promotion or a pay rise. Alternatively, it might simply be about job fulfilment and satisfaction. In many scenarios is the only opportunity for you to brag about what it is that you do and ask for what you want and for your boss to realise what it is you actually do and what your goals are. Appraisals (whether they are annual or otherwise) are an important way of monitoring your progress. They are also often your official and possibly the only record of your performance. So no matter how much you hate appraisals you should be making should that you are preparing for them and making them count!

The Appraisal Programme will help you prepare for your appraisals and focus on your personal performance. Sign up for the Appraisal Programme here.
