Physical activity and exercise can really enhance our wellbeing. Even a short burst of 10 minutes’ brisk walking increases our mental alertness, energy and positive mood.
It is recommended that the average adult should do between 75 and 150 minutes of exercise a week. As we come out of the winter months it should be easier to find the time and energy to do more physical exercise. If you are not an overly active person this can be as simple as going for a daily walk. However, you should also consider doing some additional physical activities aimed at improving your health or fitness generally. This might include things such as jogging or cycling or going to the gym.
Alternatively, you might be more interested in playing sport and be looking forward to the return of team sports in the coming months.
Exercise can have a positive impact on our wellbeing as it can have a positive impact on our mood, relieve stress and reduce levels of anxiety and depression. So make sure you build some exercise into your routine.
